Meet at My Presence

I come as shadow, I come as flame,

To some, I bring terror; to others, I claim.

Darkness before me, yet light shall arise,

I weigh every heart, discerning the wise.

I unveil what’s buried deep inside.

Old as the prophets, yet none can delay,

For each meets my presence at the close of their day.

What am I?
